Dear friends and colleagues,

 On behalf of the organizing committee, we are very happy to announce that we are going to organize the Joint Conference of APES2014, IES and SEST2014 (APES-IES-SEST2014), where APES2014: Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Society (APES) Symposium 2014, IES: International EPR(ESR) Society (IES) Symposium, SEST2014: the 53rd The Society of Electron Spin Science and Technology  (SEST) Annual Meeting. It will be held during Nov. 12 (Wed) -16 (Sun), 2014 at Todaiji Cultural Center in Nara, Japan and is hosted by APES, IES and SEST.

 Let us overview the brief history. For APES2014, this is the ninth symposium following the successful APES 1997 (Hong Kong, China), APES 1999 (Hangzhou, China), APES 2001 (Kobe, Japan), APES 2004 (Bangalore, India), APES 2006 (Novosibirsk, Russia), APES 2008 (Cairns, Australia), APES 2010 (Jeju, Korea), and APES 2012 (Beijing, China). APES series is in the second round and it is coming back to Japan again. For International EPR(ESR) Society Symposium, this will be the first symposium hosted by IES and we are very proud to have it in the old capital of Japan. We would like to extend to all IES members our warmest welcome to participate in this exciting event. Finally this is also the 53 rd Anneal Meeting of SEST, and we would like to encourage Japanese EPR/ESR scientists to participate and exchange ideas with scientists from all over the world.

 APES-IES-SEST2014 is intended to stimulate discussions on the forefront of research in all aspects of EPR/ESR ranging from theoretical and experimental advances in CW EPR/ESR, pulsed EPR, high frequency and high field EPR, ENDOR, time resolved EPR, FMR, EPRI, CIDEP and ODMR to applications in medicine, biology, chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology.

 APES-IES-SEST2014 will be an excellent place for exchanging scientific ideas with strong friendship among the participants from not only Asia-Pacific region but all over the world. We sincerely hope that the scope of the symposium will serve the interest of the scientific community, as well as the industry and the general public. I wish to extend my welcome to all participants and sponsors of the event.
